Scholarships
UK Scholarships for International Students
Our students have secured tuition-fee awards from £1,500 to £6,500 at recognised UK universities. This guide explains the award bands, what universities actually assess, and how eligibility changes by course and field of study — so you know where you stand before you apply.

Award bands: how much you could receive
Partner awards are tuition-fee reductions applied to your course fee — not cash. The bands below reflect what OMG students have actually been awarded. Your exact figure is confirmed in writing on your offer letter.
£1,500 – £2,500
Early-application award
Students who apply early for the next intake with complete documents and meet the standard entry grades.
Typically: Foundation · Undergraduate
£2,500 – £4,000
Merit award
Strong academic profiles — good final-year grades, relevant work experience, or a clear personal statement.
Typically: Undergraduate · Postgraduate
£4,000 – £6,500
High-merit / course-specific award
High-achieving postgraduate applicants, and courses where the university is actively funding international intake.
Typically: Postgraduate · PhD / Doctoral
What universities assess for eligibility
Every partner university sets its own criteria, but the same five factors decide almost every award.
- 1
Academic grades from your most recent qualification (transcripts or predicted grades).
- 2
English proficiency — IELTS, PTE, or an accepted alternative such as a Medium of Instruction letter.
- 3
Course and intake you are applying for — awards vary by department and start date.
- 4
How early you apply — most partner awards are limited per intake and close once filled.
- 5
Whether you already hold another award or sponsorship for the same course.
Timing matters most. Partner awards are capped per intake — the same profile applying three months earlier often lands a higher band.

UK scholarship questions, answered
How much scholarship can international students get in the UK?+
Students we support have secured awards from £1,500 to £6,500 depending on the university, course and intake. These are tuition-fee reductions applied to your course fee, not cash payments.
Do I need IELTS to get a UK scholarship?+
You need to meet the university's English requirement, which is often IELTS or PTE, but many partner universities accept a Medium of Instruction letter or their own internal test instead. English scores do not usually decide the award amount — academic grades and application timing do.
When should I apply to have the best chance of a scholarship?+
As early as possible for your chosen intake. Most partner awards are capped per intake and close once the allocation is filled, so an identical profile applying late can receive a smaller award or none at all.
Are these scholarships guaranteed?+
No. Every award is decided by the university and confirmed in writing on your offer letter. We check your profile against the criteria and apply for the highest band you realistically qualify for.
Does OMG charge for scholarship support?+
No. Our scholarship eligibility check and application support are free for students — we are officially recognised by our partner universities.
Can I combine a partner scholarship with another funding source?+
Sometimes, but not always — some universities do not allow two tuition reductions on the same course. Tell us about any existing sponsorship and we will confirm with the university before you accept.
